We shot Kelly & Nick’s engagement session in Boulder-first at Chatauqua Park, then we went to the CU Boulder campus. All the rain we’ve been having lately made everything green & lush. The rain also made the day humid and it was very hot as well-these two were troopers.
Me-I kept cool by laying on the ground for alot of the shots. I love that low perspective!
Nick & Kelly are highschool sweethearts and are getting married at the Inverness Hotel in South Denver. We are looking forward to photographing their wedding!!

Lauren & Matt were married in Boulder and had their reception at the Lionsgate Center In Lafayette.
The day started out with dark gray clouds and the rain started while the women were getting ready at the church. The thunder was so loud at times that it set off my car alarm-several times!!
Then before the ceremony ended the rain stopped and the rest of the day was beautiful.
During the reception Matt jumped on a chair and sang along with a Journey song. The crowd went crazy with the impromptu and very fun mini concert and whipped out the lighters and grabbed candles from the tables and held them high up in the air.
It was a blast!
Congratulations Matt & Lauren-we wish you all the best!

The weeks and weeks of anticipation finally came to an end when brush met tooth this morning in what will go down in [Roper Family] history as “The Primary’s Last Stand” or “How Oliver Lost His First Tooth”.
We had been waiting for about two months for Oliver’s first loose tooth to wiggle its way out and kept our fingers crossed that the Tooth Fairy wouldn’t give up and spend that shiny dollar. We had begun to think his fingers had become permanently attached to his mouth as he constantly jiggled away with curiosity. Well as Oliver began to brush his teeth today the pressure from his “Fantastic 4″ toothbrush proved too much for his unsuspecting deciduous friend and it popped out. After a moment of contemplation, and the realization that he didn’t immediately develop a lisp, Oliver proclaimed “HEY! I still sound the same”. For his mom and me though it will be the moment that he had changed forever.
For those of you keeping score at home it was his Upper Left Central Incisor.

Lavonne & Chas were married at the Foothills chapel in Golden and had their reception at the Golden Hotel. The day was very nice with just the right amount of cloud cover.
Lavonne was so calm, cool and collected before the ceremony, she even painted a bridesmaids nails while hanging out in the hotel room.
One of my favorite photos of them together is the one below the women toasting. While the guests were gathering outside the chapel after the ceremony for the bubbles getaway, Lavonne and Chas were waiting on the stairs to go outside. I was behind them on the stairs with my camera to my eye, just knowing (and hoping) that a moment like this would happen. By this time they were so used to us being around that they probably didn’t even notice I was there-or didn’t really care! They were caught up in the moment of being newly wed.
This is why I love my job. That moment is so real and wonderful.
Congratulations Lavonne & Chas!

John & Michele are so much fun to be around. They both have a great sense of humor and a great joy for life.
After a few reschedules due to the funky weather we’ve been having here in Colorado, we finally had a good day (without rain and not too hot) for the photo session.
These were taken at Chatauqua Park in Boulder. All the rain we’ve been having lately has made everything so green and lush. Love it.
We are really looking forward to photographing their wedding taking place in Boulder in mid August. I know it’s going to be beautiful and fun!
