Hadrian & Goran

06/30/2007   Filed under Babies & Families, Portraits • Written by Terri @ 10:37 PM

Little Hadrian just turned one today! His birth story is in the blog from last June-he was in quite the hurry to be born.

His parents just barely made it to the hospital in time. I was going to photograph the birth, but Hadrian had different plans that night.

Oliver, Eric & my visiting parents came along for the shoot at Washington Park in Denver. We have known the family for many years and Oliver & Goran are best buds.

Check them out playing in the grass. It was a beautiful summer day-perfect for photographing the boys!

Happy birthday Hadrian!!

Callie & James

Callie & James met while attending CU campus in Boulder. So it only made sense to photograph them on the campus where they fell in love.

They are such a good looking couple-you would never guess by looking at these images just how hot it was that morning!

We are really looking forward to photographing their wedding in September. I know it’s going to be an amazing day!

Amy & Patrick

06/15/2007   Filed under Weddings • Written by Terri @ 8:32 PM

Amy & Patrick were married in Boulder at the St Julien Hotel.

We had photographed her sister Katie’s wedding to Steve 2 years ago and it was wonderful to see her family again.

The day was beautiful-perfect for an outdoor ceremony on the lawn.

One of the best parts of being a wedding photographer is that we get to be up close and personal with the families and events of the day. This doesn’t mean that we are a part of the day but rather we observe the events, emotions and details of the day. We see alot of things through our lenses. To me it’s like having a back stage pass-I have access to go anywhere that day-full access.

All that day I saw such love, support and happiness from their family and friends through my lens. It’s such an honor to be allowed such access to capture those moments.

Check out the bottom right photo-they opted to not go for a traditional wedding cake. Instead they had the small cake on top and all types of yummy goodies on the lower plates.

We wish them all the best!

Lyndsie

06/13/2007   Filed under Boudoir, Portraits • Written by Terri @ 12:26 PM

These boudoir style photos were taken at the Jet Hotel in downtown Denver. The room had several wonderful, tall windows that brought in some sweet natural light to the room. We used the windows alot during the session.

Lyndsie is a very beautiful woman and the camera loved her!

We are planning several Boudoir photography marathon sessions for both the Chicagoland area and Denver in the fall.

This means that on a selected weekend in both towns (different weekends, of course) we will book a room at a swanky hotel and have available 5 boudoir sessions a day. Hair & makeup will be included in the package.

Contact me if you are interested in booking a session in either city at Terri@roperphoto.com

Maggie

Maggie has been an actress for years and is a triple threat-actress, singer and dancer.

For someone so young she is so serious and knowledgeable about her craft. I have no doubt that she will do well pursuing her dream.

Her mom brought along a friends dog as a ‘prop’. I’m so glad she did-we got some great images of them together.

Caron & Ahman

06/09/2007   Filed under Headshots, Portraits • Written by Terri @ 10:51 PM

These 2 brothers were photographed in the Belmar area for their comp cards.

Check out Caron’s (youngest boy) eyelashes-those are his real lashes-no photoshopping involved.

Ahman has the best smile-very infectious.

It’s fun photographing siblings-they can get the real and natural smiles out of each other. Some of the stuff they do to get the smiles will be kept secret-but it is a hoot to watch them interact.

I love the bottom left photo of them together-Caron is one of the most energetic kids I’ve ever met-him leaping in the air was perfect!

Naiara

Can she be any cuter! We had a fun time during the session-she loves to be photographed and she did a great job.

Normally during these comp card shoots-we change out the hair styles. Very important-especially for the girls.
Her mom had put extensions in her hair and for the first time ever the hair style was changed by cutting the hair.

It was fantastic-I loved, loved the flexibility of changing the look by cutting the extensions. Her mom whipped out the scissors and cut her hair to the length I wanted her to have for a particular look. Cool, very cool.

Who is that really cute boy in the bottom right photo? Why that is my sweet boy Oliver.

Since it is now summer break, Eric & Oliver came along with me, not only were we photographing in a park, but he could also visit one of his favorite libraries.

He has been great about assisting during a shoot. He has been an ‘extra’ in a few photo shoots now-but has no desire to have an agent-yet.

The Johnson Family

We photographed their wedding 5 years ago. WOW-seems just like they just got married.

We ran into each other at the health club a few months ago and it was a blast catching up with them and getting to meet their beautiful little girl.

Last weekend we headed out to Washington Park in the morning and got some really wonderful images. Well-it’s not that hard when your photographing such a gorgeous family!

Kathleen

06/04/2007   Filed under Events • Written by Terri @ 4:36 PM

Kathleen is the grandmother of one of our former brides-Kate. As a matter of fact Kate & Brian’s wedding is one of the featured weddings on our website. And if you scroll back a bunch a pages on the blog-there is a link to their B&W album.

Kate’s mom Sandy held a party at her home for her mom’s birthday. She had a lot of family and friends who came by to celebrate her special day.

There had been some significant changes in the family since the wedding. One of them was Sandy’s first grandchild-Summer. Kate’s brother Jason and his wife Melissa are the proud parents. Summer is the baby in most of the photos below.

Kate & Brian are expecting their first baby in about 4 weeks . Kate is the beautiful blonde in the lower right hand corner. She is glowing and gorgeous.

We are so thrilled for them!

I love the photo of Kathleen’s hand on her great granddaughter Summer. Lovely.

I wish I had the sound track of Summer laughing at the dog when they were by the fence. It brings a smile to my face. Priceless.

The Hogan Family

06/03/2007   Filed under Babies & Families, Portraits • Written by Terri @ 4:12 PM

Oliver and Samantha-the youngest daughter with the shorter hair- were in kindergarten and first grade together.

Normally I do the sessions myself but this day Eric & Oliver came along to the park-because the kids all know each other. The day was a blast! Oliver even helped out a few times and snuck in and tickled some of the kids to get some fun, real smiles.

Check out what the kids found to keep themselves busy while I was photographing mom & dad! Oliver joined in the fun-he is in the red shirt in the sprinker shot.

Dan & Liz were good sports and let the soaking wet kids pile on top of them for a group photo. We had a lot of fun with the Hogan family that day.
