Back in Denver

07/24/2008   Filed under Business • Written by Terri @ 1:55 PM

Hey, just wanted to let you know that I will be back in Denver July 28th- August 4th. I am photographing a 50th wedding Anniversary party for the parents of a former bride.

Over the years I have photographed this family several times and am soooo excited to see them again!

While I am out in Denver I am also photographing many kids for their comp cards, a couple of senior portraits, a newborn (awww) and a family session.

Right now I do have some availability left-please email me at Terri@roperphoto.com to set up a session.

Could be for a comp card, headshot, pregnancy, newborn, family, engagement, boudoir or even a trash the dress!

Kimberly & Joe Engagement

Kimberly & Joe chose the downtown area of Denver for their engagement session.

The day was almost perfect and we got some very wonderful images.

Caitlin & Casey Engagement

07/13/2008   Filed under Engagement • Written by Terri @ 2:44 PM

This engagement session was shot in Boulder, Colorado at Chautauqua Park and then up the road to Flagstaff Mountain.

It was a beautiful day, though very windy. Believe it or not- Casey’s hair was more affected by the strong wind than Caitlin’s long, long hair.

Quinn

This was the second time around for Quinn as well. It has been about 3 years in between sessions. My how time flies!

Her career has taken off and now she is doing movies. I am so thrilled for her-she is naturally talented and really loves acting & modeling.

We shot these in Denver in and around the Belmar area.

Michael

The first time I photographed Michael for his comp card was about 5 or 6 years ago. He looks just about the same-just older. These were taken in and around the LODO area of Denver.

I recognized him at once-he has such a great smile. It lights up his whole face.

There was alot of laughs on the shoot. His mom is great and we shared our stories on raising boys : )

Doen’t he look like a young Brad Pitt-especially in the profile shot.

Griffin

We shot Griffin’s headshots in the downtown area of Downers Grove, Illinois. It has alot of bright colors on the buildings-similar to the Belmar area in Denver.

He is soooo cute, energetic and a hoot to be around!

Kelley & Brian

Filed under Weddings • Written by Terri @ 12:48 PM

This was the first of several Indiana weddings for this year!

Kelley and Brian were married at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Crown Point Indiana. The reception was at the Lakes of the Four Seasons, also in Crown Point. It was nestled right on the Lake and had quite a beautiful view.

These two were so much fun, down to earth and a delight to be around.

We wish them all the best!!

A few from Oliver’s view(finder)

07/08/2008   Filed under Family • Written by Eric @ 10:29 AM

Now that Oliver has his own digital camera (see Oliver’s birthday post) we will from time to time include some of his images on our blog in an effort to foster his creativity and to share his photography with our family and friends. Since getting his camera in May, he seldom leaves home without it. In fact, he takes many images and movies inside our home, often times catching us off guard and creating some images that will never see the light of day :) .

The title of these ocassional posts will be “A few from Oliver’s View(finder)”. We hope that you enjoy seeing a bit of what Oliver caprtures from his 8 year old perspective.

A few images from our trip to the west coast. What impresses me most about Oliver’s images is his ability to compose his shots and to shoot with his camera very level (a feat that eludes even some professionals). This one was taken on out first day in California after crossing the Golden Gate Bridge.

Back in San francisco, we grabbed a quick bite in the North Beach neighborhood (Little Italy) and Oliver asked me as we left the cafe if I would escort him into the middle of the street to capture this view.

North of the Bay area, we stopped to take some pictures of the redwood forest. Oliver took this one of me as I was trying to get him to be still for a few seconds so I could take one of him.

Oliver snapped this self portrait from a mirror hanging from the ceiling while at his Granparents 50th anniversary celebration.

We’re Back home (sweet home Chicago) here’s what we’ve been up to.

07/07/2008   Filed under Weddings • Written by Eric @ 7:29 PM

We have been sooooo busy traveling and shooting the past few weeks, we finally have time to sit down at our computers to post to our blog.

We started our travels 3 weeks ago with a Flight from Chicago to San Francisco then a drive up the west coast to Newport, Oregon. We spent several Days in the Northwest before driving back down to Menlo Park, Ca and then our flight home. Along the way we got to celebrate Terri’s Parent’s 50th anniversary and had the pleasure visiting with some dear friends and some great bookstores - much to Oliver’s delight.

We were home for what seemed like just a few hours and then we were off to Denver for a week of shooting which included a weekend full of wedding celebrations. While in Denver we took the time to catch up with even more dear friends and got to celebrate a 2nd Birthday with one of them.

A few days after returning to Chicago, we had the pleasure to shoot a wedding over the 4th of July weekend in Oak Brook, Illinois.

Tonight’s post will be a brief recap of our weekend of weddings in Denver (June 27, 28, 29), with a more thorough post for each wedding, along with our other shoots, to come this week. I’m heading back to Denver in two weeks, so I will try to get all caught up before then.
