Now that Oliver has his own digital camera (see Oliver’s birthday post) we will from time to time include some of his images on our blog in an effort to foster his creativity and to share his photography with our family and friends. Since getting his camera in May, he seldom leaves home without it. In fact, he takes many images and movies inside our home, often times catching us off guard and creating some images that will never see the light of day
.
The title of these ocassional posts will be “A few from Oliver’s View(finder)”. We hope that you enjoy seeing a bit of what Oliver caprtures from his 8 year old perspective.
A few images from our trip to the west coast. What impresses me most about Oliver’s images is his ability to compose his shots and to shoot with his camera very level (a feat that eludes even some professionals). This one was taken on out first day in California after crossing the Golden Gate Bridge.

Back in San francisco, we grabbed a quick bite in the North Beach neighborhood (Little Italy) and Oliver asked me as we left the cafe if I would escort him into the middle of the street to capture this view.

North of the Bay area, we stopped to take some pictures of the redwood forest. Oliver took this one of me as I was trying to get him to be still for a few seconds so I could take one of him.

Oliver snapped this self portrait from a mirror hanging from the ceiling while at his Granparents 50th anniversary celebration.
