The weeks and weeks of anticipation finally came to an end when brush met tooth this morning in what will go down in [Roper Family] history as “The Primary’s Last Stand” or “How Oliver Lost His First Tooth”.
We had been waiting for about two months for Oliver’s first loose tooth to wiggle its way out and kept our fingers crossed that the Tooth Fairy wouldn’t give up and spend that shiny dollar. We had begun to think his fingers had become permanently attached to his mouth as he constantly jiggled away with curiosity. Well as Oliver began to brush his teeth today the pressure from his “Fantastic 4″ toothbrush proved too much for his unsuspecting deciduous friend and it popped out. After a moment of contemplation, and the realization that he didn’t immediately develop a lisp, Oliver proclaimed “HEY! I still sound the same”. For his mom and me though it will be the moment that he had changed forever.
For those of you keeping score at home it was his Upper Left Central Incisor.

Yeah, Oliver! How adorable….How shiny was that dollar the toothfairy left? I always put a note under my pillow with the amount I thought my tooth was worth…Never got it but it was worth a try!
Wow! What a milestone. Congratulations Oliver. That’s quite a gap.
